Town Manager

The Town Manager, appointed by the South Hill Town Council, is responsible for the effective administration of all municipal operations. This role includes implementing policies and ordinances established by the Council, providing professional advice on the affairs of the Town, directing departmental activities, and ensuring that the needs and concerns of citizens are addressed in a responsive and efficient manner.

The Town Manager provides oversight and strategic direction for the following departments:

  • Business Development
  • Code Compliance
  • Finance & Administration
  • Human Resources
  • Parks & Facilities
  • Police Department
  • Public Works, which encompasses:
    • Water
    • Sewer
    • Wastewater Treatment
    • Streets
    • Solid Waste
    • Fleet Maintenance

Keli Reekes was appointed Town Manager in September 2023 and brings to the position an accomplished career in public service and local government. A graduate of James Madison University, Keli takes great pride in returning to her hometown community to serve in this leadership capacity.

Keli's leadership priorities include maintaining transparency in governance, fostering economic growth, and advancing community development. In addition, she remains committed to ensuring the highest standards of public safety, operational efficiency, and employee engagement. Through her dedication, experience, and strong connection to the community, Keli is guiding the Town of South Hill toward a sustainable and prosperous future.
